· The most log components Lok-N-Logs believes that a log home should be built with logs. Why stop at the walls?  We use structural logs for 2nd floor systems, roof  systems including dormers and porch systems, giving you the most log materials of any other company in the industry.

· Log style variety With 11 potential combinations, we are sure  to satisfy everyone’s  wants and needs.

· Log Species Lok-N-Logs uses Eastern White Pine for all our milled log styles. Red Pine is used for all peeled styles. White Cedar is also available in a milled “D” style only.

· Kiln Drying after Treating Lok-N-Logs  uses pressure as a means of getting the borate treating into the entire log. This is a safe , organic salt that is extremely safe & non-toxic to humans & pets, but deadly to fungus and insects.  After the logs are treated, they are kiln dried to an average of  15% -18%. Keep in mind that the driest a log home will get in the Northeast is approx. 13%. Our process means you’ll have minimal settling caused by acclimating & compression.

· Custom Designs& Standard Models Lok-N-Logs  has 46 standard plans which can be easily modified to suite your needs or we can do complete custom plans from scratch.

· Variety of Packages. From a logs only package to a complete materials package, we can supply as much or as little as you need.. The most popular package is “Weather-tite”package which is everything you need to close in from the weather.

· Quality Components Lok-N-Logs  uses only the best materials in our packages. Items such as Marvin Windows & Doors, Therm-Tru Doors, Owen Corning Shingles are just examples to the quality we strive for.

· Panelized options Lok-N-Logs panelizes walls, gables & roof as a speedy option for the customer. This is done by us in our shops to save you or the builder valuable time in the field. You can mix and match these components as necessary. For example, you may want full log walls & gables, but would like the panelized roof system. This would consist of 3/4” t&g pine 4” of ISO Rigid Insulation, 1 1/2” vent strips, 5/8” t&g Advantech sheathing and soffit vent strip. Panels are installed using a crane and ready for felt and shingles or steel. The average roof can be ready for felt in approx. 4-5 hrs, saving valuable time and labor costs.

We were on the Green Building trend long before it was noted as a trend. Energy efficient logs are a natural way to include thermal mass to your building system. Our logs are harvested in continually replenished forests. Sodium  Borate (a natural existing safe salt) Pressure Treating is a safe natural way of protecting the log without impacting the environment. It repels bugs and mold and mildew in a natural, safe method.

Some home builders rely on the “R-Factor” of the product they build out of.  Our logs DO have a “R-Factor” but its with the Thermal Capacitance (the ability to absorb heat and trap it in the log on the inside while blocking the cold on the outside) that makes our Log Homes solid energy efficient while cutting cost of energy
